Biography

grew up in a middle classed family in Australia with beaches and sun. While a child Joel persued amatuar wrestling at one time being the national champion for his age After leaving school he studied law at the same time fulfilling a life long dream to train as a wrestler. Joel graduated from the AWF wrestling school after his first year of University. Joel was given a scholarship to Michigan University for wrestling where he attained the NCAA title in his senior year. Joel was moving right up the amatuar scene and qualified for the Barcelona Olympics. he advanced to the semi finals of his weight class when a positive drug test result appeared which had Joel banned for life from Amatuar competition, a test result which Joel still maintains to this day was incorrect.

Joel was shattered after this public embarressment and  moved back to the Gold Coast where he obtained a start as a Builder's Labourer working on High Rise buildings. Working for a labour hire subcontractor named Gemvale Joel worked all over South East Queensland doing anything from Formwork to Pile Capping. While Joel was well overqualified to be working as an unskilled labourer he was working with friends and making good money. Eventually the 60 hour weeks started to take there toll on Joel and in 1997 he left the industry after 5 years. Using his qualifications from Universty and College he started working as a lawyer. Joel achaived minor success before leaving his job in 1998 and retraining with Johnny Ace as a wrestler. Joel then left the states for Mexico halfway through 98 to meet up with Hector Guerrero. Joel trained in Lucha Libre and competed in lucha libre competition. Joel trained especially hard in Mexico to drop from his previous Amatuar competition weight of 225lbs to under 200lbs.

After new years eve in 1998, Joel left Mexico and headed back to the United States and trained with wrestling Legend Killer Kowalski. During this time Joel also wrestled dark matches for upcoming federation ECW but was never picked up because of a difference of opinion that existed between Joel and ECW's higher ups. After graduating from Killer Kowalski's wrestling school Joel headed to Memphis where he wrestled for Jerry Lawler's federation, Memphis Championship Wrestling. Joel once again had problems with the promotion's officials and left the USA to train in the Hart Family's Dungeon in Calgary. Joel completed what he had planned to be his last stint as a student and worked for the Hart Family Promotion, Stampede wrestling.

in late 1999 a Michinkou Pro official telephoned Joel to offer him a position in the Japenese Promotion as well as a spot in the year's Super J Cup Tournement. Joel accepted this offer and travelled to Japan. After competing in his first match Joel realised that the style was very different and he would need to adjust. Joel was thrilled when legendary oriental wrestler Hayabusa offered to train Joel in the ways of Puroesesu Wrestling. After a month of constant training in the high impact form of wrestling, Joel re-entered Michinoku Pro competition and competed in the 1999 Super J Cup, unfortunately be elimited in the quarter finals. Joel competed in the promotion for another two months before leaving Japan to be with his family in Australia again.

While in Australia Joel contacted the promotion that first trained him, AWF and aksed if he would be able to get a job wrestling for them. The AWF gladly accepted after hereing about Joel's global travels and Joel wrestled some independent shows for a few months before the struggling promotion finally folded. Joel then left Australia again and re-entered the American Indy curcuit. Joel wrestled matches for MCW, Rocky Mountain Wrestling, Omega, XPW and other smaller federations throughout the remainder of 1999 and early 2000 until he was contacted by 420Mike who was launching a national promotion. Joel joined up with the new UWF and wrestled until it's temporary closure in Summer. During the summer Joel wrestled in some indepented feds through his UWF contacts until the UWF re-opened in August. Joel wrestled in the hardcore division of the UWF until he negotiated a number one contendorship against another long time wrestler in the UWF, Scotty2Hotty. Joel went on the defeat Scotty and then challenge the then World Champion, Eric Taylor in a first blood match. Joel was defeated in a ruling which only recently became controversial and stayed with the UWF until late 2000 when some problems arose between Joel and the UWF Commissioner Shane O Mac. Joel left the UWF but after competing in BWF for two cards, was sidelined with an injury. Joel healed his knee and returned to the UWF in december of 2000 where he and Streex fueded over the Hardcore Title and competed in a best of 5 series which had some matches which were of 5 star quality. After another minor injury sustained at the January 2001 PPV, Digital Havoc, Joel was forced to once again sit out in February and heal injured ribs. Joel once again returned in March and shortly after attained the Tag Team Titles with Roy Timbers. Joel then went on to become Intercontinental Champion and also joined larger promotion WTFL. After minor loaction problems with the WTFL Joel was forced to quit and focus on UWF. Joel became the European Champion and also joined the BWA. Joel continued his success in the UWF when capturing the Light Heavyweight Title and the Television Title. He once again earned another World Title Shot but was forced to quit Wrestling shortly when another injury sidelined him. After being in the BWF and UWIL which both shut down prematurely, Joel became the UWF World Heavyweight Champion and then promptly resigned from the federation. As to leave on a high note. After his resignation from the UWF, Joel was inducted into the Hall Of Fame and announced as the third and final person to be recognised as an All Star Champion. After leaving the UWF, The BWA signed Joel. After two Triple Threat Championships, Joel won the BWA World Heavyweight Championship at BWA Pay Per View, Crisis, in early April. The entire Baddass Wrestling Alliance was shocked on April 2 when the World Heavyweight Champion gave his resignation from the BWA also.

After leaving BWA Joel had basically informally retired. With the exception of a minor stint in the WTFL he did not wrestle again and returned to the construction industry. Joel's contacts from his previous work in the industry obtained him a job working for Rapcivic Contractors as a Dogman. Due to Joel's popularity with workers and involved support for the Union, The Builder's Labourer's Federation, Joel became a Union Delegate, working with the Union, while still being employed as a worker. Joel talks very little of his career as a wrestler nowadays and while he has not officially retired, a return to the game is not expected from him.
